Interested in analog and contemporary approaches to form finding, I investigated what a marriage between both might produce. Starting with physical study models which juxtaposed natural and man made materials, the materials began to shape each other producing altogether new forms and qualities. These physical forms were then recreated digitally, allowing them to be further developed into a building. The building typology of a winery was chosen for its cavernous qualities and for its unique ability to bring together natural and machined processes. The final model was cast from a 3D printed mold, allowing both digital and analog processes to shape the final form and texture.
